Getting to Know the Group
Moves of Praise is a dance ministry of all ages. Pictured above is just a few of our most dedicated dancers. Two of our beginners, eight year old Dejiana Bryant and ten year old Zhana Jones, were grand champion winners of the Salisbury State University's "Praise Dance Competition 2003", and last year won 5,000 dollars in New York at Madison Square Gardens, McDonald's Gospelfest Competition 2005.There have been four groups formed through this ministry. "Future", our younger dance ministry,"Creative Praise", the middle-age group,"Silent Scream Mime/Step Ministry,,and "TRULY BLESSED",our instuctor. Our youngest dancer is six years old and our oldest is 46! We are all very spiritually blessed. I will not say how many we are in number because God continues to Bless us. We have been together for 6 years. Without any professional training we are truly an anointed group. We create our own moves. Not to mention how influenced we are by the Edmund brothers, K&KMime. They are really an inspiration to the mime group.
Getting Started
Getting started just took a little patience. I have always considered myself a leader and I knew that one day it would all pay off. "I had no idea how". I have been working with the youth in the Cambridge, MD area for approximately six years. I started at the Maces Lane Middle School as their "drill team" coordinator. I get lots of encouragement from the community,.. not to mention the love and support I get from my "very patient husband". As I began to grow spiritually, God began to send different ideas my way. Dancing was just one of the many ideas. I liked that idea because now I can be a double blessing to the receiving congregation. Singing is one thing, but to hear and see someone expressing themselves through song and dance is really a great move from God. When I dance it's just HE and I. I had a vision at a very young age, I wanted to dance. Today that is just what "MOVES of PRAISE" is all about, Him and The Dance.
Moves of Praise Vision
Our vision is to reach out and touch the many lives of those individuals that are so lost in the world. That maybe someone will be in the right place at the right time to see this dynamic youth group performing the work that God has set before them and be touched. That we can influence more of God's people to get out and share their BLESSINGS. That we may, through our ministry, win more souls to CHRIST!!!!.
